I've seen this before. Actually, it is interesting because it addresses one of the stereotypes of male communication. Gray says men typically are poor listeners and tend to offer solutions when that is not called for. This example "works" at countering that behavior, even if the motive of the men is questionable.
What can I say? I totally agree! Just how many times have I tried to tell my dad something, only to get this "uh hmm" which I can never understand what it means!
Add in a football match into the mix and you can be sure he is unresponsive!
